My name is Kristopher Wood, and this year I am going to be running
barefoot in the New York Marathon with the goal of raising $3,500 for UNICEF.
Every day, 22,000 children around the globe die from preventable causes,
simply because they don’t have access to clean water, immunizations, proper nutrition
or protection during emergencies. UNICEF, and I, believe that number should be zero.
I'm nearly a third of the way there, but I need your help. If I can get 200 people to
give just $10 each, then I will have completed my goal.
What does $3,500 buy?
7 water pumps, which will help keep 7 different communities safe from deadly waterborne illnesses.
35 HIV test kits, allowing 3,500 mothers to take the first step to preventing the spread of mother-to-child HIV/AIDS.
14 school-in-a-box kits, giving 560 children temporary schooling after an emergency situation.
So please, help out if you can. Just go to my fundraising website at:
You'll also be entered into a raffle to win an autographed copy of Born to Run by Christopher McDougall
Just to reiterate: I get no money. Kids in need do. You may win a book
