With your generosity, fundraising goal was SMASHED!
April 13, 2017
Would you run a mile for a dollar? What about a quarter? A dime? You might think I am crazy, but I will do just that! That is because I have been chosen to participate in the 2017 Boston Marathon as a part of team UNICEF, and through their efforts that dollar can provide a malnourished child with lifegiving nutrition for one day. 60 of those dollars will buy more than 300 doses of polio vaccine.
My training journey will take me almost 600 miles over approximately 90 hours, culminating in the 26.2 miles of the world famous Boston Marathon. While this journey will not be easy, it is a piece of cake compared to the daily struggles facing children impacted by global events beyond their blame or control. Even a dime per mile on my overall effort will have a tremendous impact on dozens of the most vulnerable children on the planet. $1.00 per race day mile will provide deworming tablets for over 700. Help me help UNICEF by donating no later than April 3rd. The best part, your donation will be matched up to the first $4,000, so your donation goes twice as far!
For more than 60 years, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF has put children first, engaging kids in the U.S. to help kids around the world. Team UNICEF Boston 2017 is not only running the Boston Marathon but is raising money for UNICEF Kid Power! Built for a new generation of global citizens, Kid Power uses the world’s first wearable-for-good to get kids moving by tapping into their inherent desire to help peers. By joining the UNICEF Kid Power team, kids get more active so that children everywhere can grow up healthy.
UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severly malnourished children around the world. Join Team UNICEF Boston 2017 to get active and save lives!!
Donations are due April 3rd by close of business, so please act quickly and generously and donate now.
