I thought we would never be blessed with our own baby as it was a long struggle to concieve Molly Brown. However, our own little miracle baby came along a year ago and she has been loved, cared for and nurtured not only by her family but also our network of wonderful friends. We agree that it takes a village to raise a child and I have been thinking about how we can be a bigger part of that global village that cares for babies across the world less fortunate than Molly.
Running the New York Marathon has been a dream of mine since I lived and worked in Manhattan in 2000/01. Therefore, I am excited to combine my ambition to compete in this iconic race with the opportunity to raise money for UNICEF .
UNICEF does whatever it takes to save and protect the world's most vulnerable children. Forty years ago, UNICEF figured out that promoting simple, low-cost interventions like hand washing and breastfeeding could save millions of lives. Undaunted by war or geography, UNICEF delivers.
Members of Team UNICEF NYC have committed to each raise a minimum of $3,500, in support of UNICEF's work worldwide - and I would be very grateful if you would help me play my part in this grand endeavour.
