BENEFITING: United Way of Metropolitan Chicago
ORGANIZER: United Way of Metropolitan Chicago
EVENT DATE: Oct 12, 2014
Dear Family and Friends,
On October 12, 2014, I will be running in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as part of Team United Way. With your support, we can improve the lives of our most vulnerable populations. In addition to strengthening our communities, your donation will also inspire me during my final weeks of training!
United Way is a global organization committed to moving individuals and families beyond poverty to a better way of life through good education, financial stability, and quality health care. United Way partners with many of the most effective non-profit agencies … including my very own Heartland Human Care Services, a Heartland Alliance company.
As many of you know, I joined Heartland last year. As a Housing Resource Developer, I work with individuals who are transitioning from nursing facilities to independent living: helping them improve their quality of life. With the support of United Way, I’ve personally seen how resources can multiply in addressing some of the toughest societal challenges.
As I head into my final weeks of training, I need your help. My goal is to raise $1,500 by race day. Every donation makes a difference. So, forgo a few Starbucks, eat out once less often, or hold off on that special purchase. Instead, join me as together we can change lives.
