The Nautica New York City Triathlon is an Olympic Distance race consisting of a 1,500 meter Hudson River swim, 40 kilometer bike along the Henry Hudson Parkway and a 10 kilometer run that finishes in Central Park. This year over 3,500 athletes will participate on August 7, 2011.
Oceana is the largest international organization working solely to protect the world’s oceans. Oceana wins policy victories for the oceans using science-based campaigns. Since 2001, they have protected over 1.2 million square miles of ocean and innumerable sea turtles, sharks, dolphins and other sea creatures.
Oceana has been actively involved in the Gulf Coast clean up efforts and continues to fight legislation supporting offshore drilling.
