EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
At 17, Simon was registered legally blind. But instead of admitting defeat, he decided to do something for himself. 4 years ago, at age 28, he began running. First on a soccer pitch near his home, then on closed roads completely by himself and then finally on open roads. It became his source of independence despite his condition. And a decade after he lost his vision, Simon is now an ultramarathon runner.
Last fall, Simon recently ran from Boston to NYC and then hopped in to run the NYC Marathon, that's over 250 miles in 11 consecutive days! After realizing it was possible to run Boston, there was only one thing left to do, find a qualifier. It turned out there was one, and only one qualifier left in the UK. He had just one shot, the pressure was on! Simon will be crossing the glorious Boston Marathon finish line with his guide Neil, who ran alongside on his adventure from Boston to NYC!
