In May I'm going to two remote First Nation's communities in Washington with RAVS. We are going to provide veterinary services such as wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, spaying and neutering to animals that don't normally have access to medical care. Also, I am going to learn a TON.
Your money will go towards medical care for animals in need! Not me! I'll be sleeping on the floor... And liking it.
I set my goal to $500 but, as with all fundraisers, the more the merrier!

"RAVS is a wonderful place to learn and practice vital veterinary skills in a low pressure environment ... I think it is incredible that a team of mostly strangers from completely different backgrounds can come together and efficiently complete the seemingly daunting - yet incredible - task known as RAVS!" ~Kara Miller, Class of 2017, Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine
In May of 2015, HSVMA-RAVS staff and volunteers will travel to the
Pacific coast for 4 days of field clinics on the Quinault Reservation, and then head east to the mountains for 5 more days of field clinics on the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. The team of 30 veterinary students and 15 professional volunteers will offer free spay/ neuter and wellness care to hundreds of animals in these remote communities where regular veterinary care is not available.
In addition to wellness services, RAVS’ volunteers will care for animals with a wide range of health concerns including puppies suffering from parvovirus and distemper infections and older animals suffering from multiple infirmities. We will help animals with old traumatic injuries and festering wounds, returning them to a happier life with their family. While providing this care, our volunteers and staff will be educating the family on animal care and public health, helping to make the community a better place for the animals and the people of Quinault and Colville.
