I am excited to announce that this May, I'll be going on my second volunteer trip with HSVMA RAVS! This will be a 2 week field clinic serving the Colville and Quinault reservations in Washington. RAVS is a non-profit program that brings free veterinary services to communities where poverty and geographic isolation make veterinary care inaccessible. RAVS has a major impact on improving quality of life for the animals and people of these communities, and I am honored to be a part of it.
Last year, I had an amazing experience learning from some of the most skilled and compassionate veterinary professionals in the field. I received one on one surgical training, performed hundreds of physical exams, and practiced my anesthesia skills. I am looking forward to being part of the RAVS team again and continuing to gain invaluable experience.
RAVS relies heavily on donations and volunteers to be able to continue to serve communities in need. This program has a strong reputation for providing high quality veterinary care while managing to keep costs down. Volunteers typically sleep on community center or gym floors with limited or no access to showers or air conditioning. We work hard, rising at 5am and working until 9 or 10pm with limited breaks. In order to help as many animals, families, and communities as we can, we need your support! Everything donated is used directly to fund the work our team will be doing in the summer of 2015. Below you will see how your donation will be put to good use:
$250 provides emergency surgery & aftercare for one seriously injured dog or cat.
$100 provides spay/neuter, vaccination & wellness care for one dog or cat.
$75 provides pain management for an injured dog or cat.
$35 provides life-saving parvovirus treatment for one puppy.
$20 provides anesthetics & surgery supplies to provide spay/neuter for one dog or cat.
$10 provides vaccines for one dog or cat.
Any contribution will make a big difference for the animals and communities that RAVS serves.
Thank you in advance for your generosity,
