BENEFITING: Abolition International
ORGANIZER: WBGL's Team
EVENT DATE: Apr 26, 2014
WBGL came to my school and told us about how they were going to create a team to run the illinois marathon for a ministry called Abolition International. I am excited to run the 5k with them!
Abolition International is trying to help people be aware that there are people in slavery. They are raising money to build a home where young girls rescued from slavery can have a safe place to heal. No one should be a slave. I want to help God free them.
WBGL's Team Abolition Intl wrote -
Twenty-seven million people are enslaved today, more than at any other point in human history. Nearly two million children around the world are currently being exploited around the world and right here in the United States. In Chicago alone, thousands of women and girls are victims of trafficking every year.
There’s something you can do to help. Join WBGL as we partner with Abolition International to build a home where young girls rescued from human trafficking can find healing, hope, and restoration.
How? Donate to WBGL’s “Team Abolition International." Your donations on this Crowdrise page will go to help build a model after-care facility in Tennessee, that will help young girls rescued from trafficking in our region. Your gift of $50, $100, or $200 will be a great help.
Other ways to get involved:
Join WBGL’s "Team Abolition International” during the Illinois Marathon races, April 25-26 in Champaign, and raise support for Abolition International. Even if you have never run before, consider joining us in the 5K, 10K, half or full marathon. This race isn’t about your footsteps, but about your heartbeat.
