BENEFITING: Fraxa Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Jun 01, 2013
Fragile X is a genetic syndrome that is the most widespread single-gene cause of autism and inherited cause of mental retardation among boys. It results in a spectrum of intellectual disabilities ranging from mild to severe as well as physical characteristics such as an elongated face, large or protruding ears, and large testes and behavioral characteristics such as stereotypic movements (e.g. hand-flapping), and social anxiety.
Team Whitney consists of Matt , Alejandro and Stuart. Matt's wife Kim and her brother Stuart are alums of BB&N, where Patrick's father Jim used to teach and coach. While it has been awhile since they were in contact, Kim recently re-connected with Jim and wrote an article about FRAXA (created and run by a BB&N alum) and Patrick's PALS for the spring edition of the alumni magazine.
Please help us in our efforts to support Patrick’ PALS (and therefore FRAXA) as they continue to fund top-notch scientific research- some day soon you will be able to say you played a role in curing Fragile X!! Thank you!
