BENEFITING: Wipe Out Kids' Cancer, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Oct 26, 2014
My name is Kevin Shtofman, and I have formed a team of aspiring triathletes with amazing moral responsibility and questionable sanity! Team WOKC was founded in 2012 to raise awareness and funds for Wipe Out Kid's Cancer, an organization funding pediatric cancer research. We do this by racing in IRONMAN sanctioned events around the country.
By May of 2013, Team WOKC grew to 19 members, of which 17 completed their first IRONMAN race in Austin, TX on October 27th, 2013. This year our marquee event takes place October 26th in Miami.
Team WOKC full distance racers typically put in 5+ months of dedicated training each year, logging over 100,000 meters in the water, 1500 miles on the bike, and 300 miles on the pavement. We also welcome relays.
46 Children are diagnosed with cancer every single day. We are putting ourselves through this physical and mental gauntlet in order to get a small glimpse of the struggle these children likely deal with on a daily basis.
Please watch our video and visit our website for more information about our races, our racers, and our amazing benefactors, who are fighting a battle for their lives!
