Firstly, I'd like to thank all the Lions and friends of District 4-C4 who have supported City of Hope these past years.
I have told you about Anna, who lost her battle on Christmas day, leaving two youngs sons. Then there's my friend K, who recently underwent treatment and is now doing well. With your help, we will never hear about another K battling cancer or Anna losing her battle.
We had our Walk for Hope on August 23rd. The weather was great (hot!) but it was a great walk. Even though the walk is over, the battle is not. Awesome bars will be available at the Counil meetings. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Anna thanks you, K thanks you and I thank you.
A message from City of Hope -
Every year, too many women we love must battle breast and gynecologic cancers: our mothers, our wives, our sisters and our friends. We walk for them — and for a future where cancer can no longer take them from us. All funds raised benefit women's cancers.
Inspired by this vision, City of Hope is leading the fight against cancers unique to women through research, treatment and education. By walking, we not only raise funds for the fight — we also promote regular exercise, which can cut cancer risk and help women with these diseases enjoy longer, healthier lives.
Since 2007, Team Lions for Hope has been raising funds for Walk for Hope to put an end to women's cancers, raising a total of over $50,000! This year's walk will be on August 24rd along the beautiful Guadalupe River Park Trail.
Our goal is $5,000. We cannot reach this goal without your support. Please donate to Lions for Hope or be on the Team Leaderboard and set up your own fundraiser in your name or your club's name. Together, as Lions, we can support City of Hope and build a world without women's cancers.
