An anonymous donor has initiated a $20,000 matching fund campaign to fuel our goal to launch one new Teen Press a month in the coming school year.
Teen Press creates classrooms out of mayor’s offices, subways, and diners and has turned red carpets into sidewalks, and sidewalks into red carpets. Teen Press creates spaces where everyone gets to be human, and everyone gets to be a star.
Teen Press transforms kids, teachers and communities via the power of story. It is a simple, and accessible program that provides kids and teachers with purpose, tools, and a voice to uncover those stories. Not rocket science, but a rediscovery of age-old courtesies and attentions. Students, teachers, community . . . kids, elders, humans . . . experience the connection that happens when they prepare, engage, and listen.
The outcome: Teen Press kids gain purpose, confidence, and discover the value of their own story.
