Hi, my name is Casey Randazzo and this is my education story. I didn't get consistently good grades in high school. One year I would get As and Bs, another year I would get Cs and Ds. I was always involved in student government and other leadership activities. I exhibited the behaviors of a straight A student, without actually being one. Coming from a single parent home, an expensive private college was not a realistic option. Instead of taking out loans that would have provided more obstacles than solutions, I decided to attend Raritan Valley Community College. I fell in love with learning at RVCC. One of my mentors pushed me to apply to Cornell University. When I was accepted, my whole world changed.
My education story, and those that are similar, prove that we cannot predict a child's outcome based on his/her past academic record. When given equal access to summer education, through Practice Makes Perfect, all children will have the opportunity succeed. Their lives may completely change as a result.
