I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and am a proud product of the South Florida public school system. Education has always been important to me, especially as the son of parents who emigrated from Haiti. As a young kid, I understood that my parents immigrated to the United States in order to provide me and my siblings better opportunities. Hence, I have always strived to do my best in school. Coupled with the fact that I was fortunate enough to have great teachers, there was no way that I would not succeed. Though math was my favorite subject growing up, I also had strong interests in History and English. After graduating high school, I decided to "take my talents" to Bowdoin College, a liberal arts school, where I thrived both academically and socially. If it wasn't for the great educational opportunities that I was able to have early on, I would not be in the position I am in today. Currently, I teach high school math as I believe it is crucial to give back. What's your education story?
