BENEFITING: TOUGALOO COLLEGE
EVENT DATE: May 04, 2013
In honor of our 10 year reunion, the class of 2003 proposes the “10 for Tougaloo” Alumni Spirit Challenge. The Alumni spirit challenge will allow each individual in the Class of 2003 to select a team of their choice and make a weekly pledge of $10 or more to their team in a race to see which organization can raise the most money for the class. Individuals may make separate $10 (or more) pledges to separate groups if they elect to do so.
For example if someone wants to make a pledge for TeamOmegaPsiPhi and TeamLegalEagles they could make separate pledges of $10 to each group. We
want to encourage each classmates weekly participation and give weekly status updates to inform participants of who is in the lead and where the rest of the teams are in the standings. This should be friendly competition. In addition to bragging rights, the winner will receive special recognition from the President during Commencement weekend and the winning team will be announced. I think we should have team captains to advocate and motivate for each group. This project will be in Addition to our other previously implemented fundraising model and can be one way for our class to get excited about Reunion weekend and also help us raise money along the way.
The competition will start/be posted via Tougaloo’s website and social networks with updates on twitter, facebook, and instagram with the hashtag #TenForTougaloo to keep the class constantly informed. The last day of the competition will literally be Commencement weekend (because we want our classmates that want to continue to give to be able to continue if they so choose).
