In celebration of Red Cross month in March the Connecticut and Rhode Island Red Cross is traveling to 5 communities, to install free smoke alarms in local homes and share fire safety information with residents.
You can find us in your neighborhood from March 6-10, 2017.
March 6: Torrington
March 7: Norwalk
March 8: New Britain
March 9: Tiverton
March 10: New London
We're focusing our fundraising efforts in CrowdRise to fund one of the worthiest relief efforts that currently needs the most support: Home Fires and Disaster Relief. The American Red Cross responds to an emergency every 8 minutes, and 90% of the disasters we respond to are home fires.
In Connecticut and Rhode Island the Red Cross responds on average to 2 home fires each day. Be a part of the race to build up our efforts and build up your community by participating in our fundraising sprint, from 2/26/17 - 4/30/17. Together, during fiscal year 2016 we installed more than 10,000 free smoke alarms in Connecticut and Rhode Island homes!
Your local Red Cross is made up of more than 3,000 volunteers who represent 98% of our workforce. Our volunteers are the beating heart of our mission. Together, you can join with us by donating your time, energy, and vision in prompting your community to join the heartbeat of our mission.
**Donations made through 3.15.17 will support Red Cross Home Fire and donations made from 3.16.17 through 4.30.17 will support Red Cross Disaster Relief.
