The East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP) is a free medical clinic run by the medical students of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and supervised by Mount Sinai physicians. The clinic is run to provide free medical care to the residents of East Harlem. In order to qualify for care, patients simply must (1) live in East Harlem (2) be older than 22 (there are other services in New York City that provide free care for adolescents and children) and (3) not have health insurance. All services that we provide (medications included) are entirely free of cost to our patients; we never charge our patients for any services that we perform and, since none of our patients can have insurance, we do not receive any medical reimbursement. The clinic is currently in its 10th year and runs every saturday throughout the corse of the year on the Mount Sinai campus. Each year we see over 200 patients in over one thousand clinic visits.
