BENEFITING: Texas Hillel Foundation
During our week in Hungary and Romania, Texas Hillel's participants will learn about the Joint Distribution Committee’s work to rebuild and strengthen Hungarian and Romanian Jewish communities after the Holocaust and decades of Communist rule. The JDC works to provide social services to the most vulnerable in the Jewish Community. They provide hot meals, home care, winter relief, and medical care for the elderly, many of whom are Holocaust survivors, and give aid to Jewish children and families at risk. We will provide hands-on support for local Jewish organizations and have the incredible opportunity to hear stories from different generations of Hungarian and Romanian Jews. This trip will allow us to explore our individual and collective Jewish identities and experience firsthand the concept of Klal Yisrael, global Jewish peoplehood. Thank you for supporting our volunteering efforts and making this 100% tax deductible gift.
