Jeffrey Oram wrote -If you know ANYTHING about the Duda-Oram household, you know that we absolutely dote on our furry menagerie: Cashmere, Count Blacula, Frankie, and Theo. You most likely also know that every single one of our "kids" was adopted and saved from likely death. You've seen their pictures; you've likely met them; heck, you've probably been greeted by Theo at the door and, the very first time, were probably scared silly walking through the door (only for him to be your new best friend a few minutes later... particularly if you slipped him a piece of chicken when nobody was looking).
So, it makes sense that one of the charities we deem it necessary to support would be one that benefits pets. We could have chosen the Humane Society, or any of a number of local pet rescues. All are worthy of our support. But, you've got to hand it to the ASPCA: they are persistent, and boy are they effective.
The mission of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is simple and straightforward:
"To provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States"
Yeah, I can get behind that. But please don't make me watch one of their commercials on TV. Unless you really enjoy seeing a grown man weep like a little schoolgirl. Seriously, it is not pretty.
