I decided to start this project, my first one in crowdrise, to help Thailand flood relief efforts.
This has been Thailand’s worst floods in more than 50 years and already have swept across 60 of Thailand’s 77 provinces over the past two months including Bangkok metro area, swamping factories and destroying more than 10 percent of the nation’s rice farms.
The finance ministry recently cut its forecast for economic growth to 3.7 percent from 4 percent and said the disaster may cost 120 billion baht ($3.9 billion).
I myself have been to Flood Relief Center at Don Muang Airport to help packing goods for victims and load them to trucks which go to different provinces around bangkok. Even this center is recently flooded a few days ago.
I'll answer any questions you may have. And for more information, here's a very up-to-date blog in English which covers a lot of updates on the flooding: http://www.thaitravelblogs.com/
