Thank you Lilley's
Organized by: Katryn Miller
EVENT DATE Aug 30, 2015
*SHHH!! THIS IS A SECRET!!!! Jon and Sami do not know!*
Most of you know Jon Lilley is leaving his position as Young Adults Pastor after 7+ years of service to serve as Woodcreek's new Worship Arts Pastor in September. Jon and Sami have faithfully served the Woodcreek Young Adults ministry. They opened up their home and hearts to us. They have loved and served their brothers and sisters in Christ in joy, truth, humility, patience, compassion and sincerity. They sacrificed their time, energy, and resources. They have beard our burdens and rejoiced with us in life's mountain tops, valleys, and storms. And Jon and Sami did all of this to the glory of God and to make His name known.
On the evening of August 30, 2015, the Young Adults, both current and alumni, will come together for a Communion Reunion Dinner as our last communion with the Lilley's (that Sunday is also Jon's last Sunday in the Gathering). Details of that event will be on Facebook and the Woodcreek website soon. But, we are seizing that opportunity to surprise the Lilley's with a small gift to show them our love, appreciation, and gratitude for their friendship and years of service to the Young Adults.
We have a few gift ideas planned, depending on how much we raise:
(1) One of the gifts will be a coffee table photo album
(2) The big gift -- the rest of the funds will go towards one big gift. The theme we're going for is something for the Lilley's home that they could use to host friends and community group. Since they opened their home to countless communion dinners, bible study, game nights, and everything in between, we thought new living room furniture or outdoor patio furniture would allow them to continue to bless those they serve.
We would be grateful for any amount you feel called to give, and we hope to see you at the Communion Reunion on August 30. Also, if you know of anyone who has been touched by Jon and Sami, please share this! Thanks so much.
