The 3am Project
Organized by: Keny Marie Leepier-Freeman
COMPASSION: DEEP AWARENESS OF THE SUFFERING OF ANOTHER COUPLED WITH THE WISH TO RELIEVE IT
The 3am Project aims to remind women going through struggles of homelessness, prostitution and drug addiction that they are cared for.
Since beginning the so project last July, I have soley supported it's efforts. As we grow in popularity, so do our needs therefore I am seeking to make 3am an officially recognized charity.
The 3 am Project provides care packages to women struggling on the streets. Each package will always contain feminine care products in addition to many other essentials such as blankets, tarps, bottled water, etc. It will also contain a prepaid calling card and a handwritten note encouraging them to contact a loved one. It is my hope that in providing away to reach out that families will have the opportunity to reconnect and support each other as well as to be able to support those who truly have no one. Additionally, we Serve'Em Saturdays seeks to provide a hot family style meal to any homeless person one Saturday per month in rotating locations.
The donations collected through this fundraiser will assist our project with: ~Registering as an official 501c3 charity as recognized by the IRS ~Hiring a Non-Profit Attorney to review our application and provide legal counsel through the approval application ~Supplying 500 essential packed bags ~Supplies for Serve Em Saturdays per month ~Community Outreach programs in development ~Website Domain Purchase ~Flyer and Business Card Initial design and printing
Why we do what we do: Only July 24, 2015 my siblings and I lost our sister Tiani Cross to an accidental drug overdose. We lost her to the streets long before that. The 3am Project was created in a period of grieving and healing and the desire to not let our sisters death be in vain. I decided to name the project 3am because hen Tiani did reach out to us, 3am was usually her desired time to call. What I learned from my sisters death is that everyone has a story, a truth and an experience that is unique to them. We ALL need each other.
Mission:To restore hope in at risk homeless women and girls by providing self care essentials, resources and compassion as an effort to support self-sufficiency.
Vision:To promote compassion and education regarding the vulnerabilities of our female homeless population by developing partnerships with other service and action oriented agencies and programs.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
