The ninth annual World Autism Awareness Day is Sunday, April 2, 2017! On Sunday, April 2nd, I hope you can join our walk/ run benefiting Autism New Jersey at John P. Stevens High School in Edison, New Jersey from 9:00am-12:00pm! Autism affects 1 in 68 children nationally. New Jersey has the highest rate, with autism affecting 1 in 41 children. This year, let's take measures to raise awareness and acceptance for children and people with autism throughout the world by coming together! The state of New Jersey does an amazing job coming together throughout the year to shine their light on autism. However, on such a grand day, I think it's important to unite as one on behalf of those with autism to shed our light, unite, educate and accept each others' differences. There will be a 1 mile walk and 5k (3.1 miles) taking place on the track outside of the school. You choose that day what you would like to participte in! There will be raffels, give aways, snacks, games and entertainment! Create a team and sign up today! Teams can be anywhere from one person to as many as you'd like! Create team t-shirts if you'd like to show team spirit as you walk/run on World Autism Day! Don't forget to fundraise with your team! All donations will go directly to Autism New Jersey.
