Our family has been blessed with 3 miracles: Chloe (born at 25 weeks with a 103 days spent in the NICU at St. Joe's Hospital...now 3 years old), Cohen (born at 36 weeks...now 19 months old), and Conley (born at 34 weeks with 4 days in the NICU at Levine's Children's Hospital....now 4 months old). They each have very unique journeys and have overcome many obstacles. They are now thriving and have surpassed ALL expectations. Though our NICU experiences were challenging, we have gained life long friends through various support groups. One of the groups I found shortly after Chloe's discharge was Pierce's Project, a non-profit fund designated to support families of extremely premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Charlotte. The women I have met have been a source of comfort and a safe haven to discuss life in and after the NICU. If you feel led, please donate to families who are currently in the midst of their NICU journey. All donations go directly back to NICU families through a care package program, parking initiative and support events. We are forever grateful to the nurses, doctors, and programs set up for the families of St. Joseph Medical Hospital and Levine's Children Hospital.
