The Chiwowows were rescued from a sad situation where aspiring breeders went from a handful of dogs to over 30 in the space of a couple years. Crammed into tight living quarters, these little guys went without socialization or adequate care. Thanks to a call from a concerned citizen, LCHS was able to step in and organize an effort to get most of the dogs out and ensure healthy conditions and spay/neuters for the few dogs who would stay. Working with the Humane Society of Marion County and Alaqua Animal Refuge, we were able to give 34 dogs a chance at a normal, happy life with their very own families. It's only with the generous support of our supporters that we are able to mount rescue like these and save hundreds of lives every year. Please donate to the Chiwowows and help us continue making a difference for local pets in need!
