BENEFITING: Pta New York Congress
EVENT DATE: Jul 28, 2017
On Friday July 28th Sophia, Ethan, and Dylan, along with their Pound Ridge swim teammates will be swimming for a very important cause.
On December 22, 2015, the Pound Ridge Swim & Dive Team lost a beloved Alumnus and Coach, Chris Dewey, at the young age of 28. Chris was raised in Pound Ridge and swam with the Pound Ridge Dolphins for many years. The Dolphins will honor his passion, heart and commitment to swimming and changing the lives of kids around him by hosting The 2nd Annual Chris Dewey Swim-A-Thon on Friday, July 28th at the Pound Ridge Town Pool.
This year we are proud to raise funds in Chris’ name to benefit another Pound Ridge hero: Lucas Harashima. In September 2016, Lucas was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a rare form of aggressive terminal brain cancer residing in the brainstem that typically occurs in children ages 5-10. Lucas just graduated from Kindergarten at Pound Ridge Elementary School. All money raised at The 2nd Annual Chris Dewey Swim-A-Thon will aid The Harashima Family as they prepare for a new, pioneering treatment option in Mexico.
