The Cultural Experience of a Lifetime
Organized by: Logan Breen
Hello all, I'm Logan! I am a student at Texas Tech and will be starting my junior year this upcoming fall semester. I am double majoring in history and Spanish, and intend on attending law school. I'm also a passionate lover of music, and have played guitar and piano for many years. There's a little about me, but now let's talk about "the dream". I traveled to Spain when I was young and fell in love with Spanish culture and the Spanish language, and ever since I've been dying to return to this place that I love. My university offers an amazing study abroad program in Spain, but I have even bigger ambitions than just that while I study abroad! I want to emerse myself in as many cultures as possible while in Europe because I believe it is one of the best ways for an individual to broaden their horizons. When you spend time with people that are different than you, you get a sense of how big the world really is and how many different perspectives there are in the world. This helps an individual think more compassionately and carefully, in my opinion. However, to take this great trip I would greatly appreciate some help from anyone feeling generous enough to do so. Recently this year my parents got a divorce. My parents are great, but they have their own lives and they're both having a hard time right now and just can't financially help a lot with this dream of mine since they have businesses to run. I'm currently working a full time job and trying to save as much as I can, but it's tough sometimes for a college kid with lots of bills. I also am applying for as many grants as I can to give myself the best shot possible. The trip is going to be the fall semester of my senior year, so basically a year away from now, August of 2016. I'm trying to get ahead of the gun here to have as much saved as possible by that time! I would graciously accept any amount that anyone would be generous enough to give to my little dream. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read, and if you would like to donate I can't thank you enough. I hope anyone reading this has a great day!
