Every Community Offering Service (ECOS) is a non-profit organization facilitating youth group fundraising through performance of community service projects.
The community and environment around us is always in need of some help. Hawaii in particular because of the high cost of living, there are just not enough resources to address areas such as park maintenance and revitalization, human services, community safety and facility or environmental beautification. This is where ECOS can step in to fill the void left by funding deficits to accelerate and accomplish community service projects regardless of the economic climate.
Traditionally, youth groups (eg. soccer teams, hula halau, etc.) raise monies to finance their activities by donation or selling of food products. The ECOS Project believes that rather than these traditional ways of fundraising, performing a community service project provides a better outcome not only for the youth group, but the community and donor as well. The donor gets a tax deduction, the youth group raises funds for their organization and the community gets a project completed (eg. park cleanup, graffiti removal, feeding elderly shut-ins).
In addition, by necessitating community service projects in return for funding, The ECOS Project hopes to instill the values in project participants that it is far more rewarding to earn something through work, effort and contribution as well as pride and ownership in the communities they live in.
This fundraising page is The ECOS Projects general crowdfunding page to help cover costs of project materials, project supervision and general administrative costs as well as fund those projects that do not have a targeted fundraising effort.
ECOS is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
