About a year and a half ago I felt like something was missing from my life. I enjoyed my full-time job working in fashion, but it was not giving me the fulfillment I was looking for. I joined a women's group called LEVO and attended a networking event in NYC. It was there I met my now good friend, Amanda Munz. Amanda is a sensational person whose passion and drive led her to start her own non-profit called The Fashion Foundation. The Fashion Foundation is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to provide school supplies to students in need. Getting involved with the foundation, seeing its impact, and being able to attend my first school visit to PSIS 155 in Brooklyn changed my life and gave me a whole new perspective. These kids don't have all the amenities many of us were used to when we went to school. No fresh new pencils for that first day, no binders or notebooks for class. They have nothing, some of the students are even lucky to have a roof over their heads, living with parents in homeless shelters. I want to help give these students the basic necessities for an education. I have dedicated the last year and half to raise money for school supplies for students in need right here in NYC. I am continuing my fundraising efforts by dedicating my first marathon to The Fashion Foundation. Please help support me as I run 26.2 miles through all five boroughs of NYC for the students of NYC.
