The First Hello
Organized by: Logan Elmore
The First Hello, a non profit organization founded by Logan Elmore, works to address five critical issues that can lead directly to suicide: substance abuse, self-harm, severe anxiety, and experiences of bullying by raising awareness and giving compassion. The staggering amount of suicides each year has proven that simply ignoring an issue won't make it go away. The First Hello wants to inspire you to take the first step in changing someone's life for the better, even if it's just by saying "hello".
Our mission is to demonstrate the impact of a simple "hello" by empowering each other to care for one another, to give comfort to those struggling, to equip them with the tools they need to heal, and inspire them to want to live again. We need to destigmitize depression, self harm, substance abuse, anxiety, and bullying in order to start the conversation and ultimately end suicide.
The vision for The First Hello is to become a 501(c)(3) non profit, helping to bring hope to those who are silently suffering, and encourage community members to reach out to help others by saying a simple hello. Within the next five years, this organization will grow a presence that is easily recognizable. Long term, we plan to grow as large as possible for a non-profit, with celebrity endorsements and an award winning documentary accompanied by film shorts. Additionally, we plan to incorporate and grow as a corporation with club chapters across the nation with a presence in high school and college campuses across every state in the country.
As we continue to develop, our organization needs necessary funding to achieve our goals and put our programs into place, as well as provide our organization with venues to share our platform with the world. We've laid out our bare necessities required from generous investors willing to donate their funds or resources to our cause. We've created simple charts to provide a visual representation, sorted by highest priority first, of what our budget breakdown looks like. Of course we'd love to balance our priorities amongst our budget, however getting incorporated and getting our startup costs covered is our foundation to beginning our journey.
