BENEFITING: SMILE MASS INCORPORATED
We are a team of 12, running in the Ragnar Relay Cape Cod event to help raise money for SMILE Mass. We believe that "every runner has a reason", and, for this race, SMILE Mass is ours! We are 12 individuals that realize strength is in numbers. We are coming together as runners of all different capabilities, ages, and sizes- conquering over 200 miles of hills and thrills to raise money for some amazing kids here in Massachusetts. We are all very lucky to have great families, friends, and co-workers that are supporting us through this journey and are now asking for your help as well. We have the luxury of hitting the roads or trails when the going gets tough; to alleviate that "bad day" by pounding our feet on the pavement, through the aching legs, burning lungs, racing minds- but in the end you feel better! For some of these kids and their parents, there is no outlet! There is the everyday struggle to perform the simplest tasks. The struggle to keep going when quitting isn’t even an option. So for this we run and ask you to donate to this great cause and to help us raise money through miles for SMILEs. SMILE Mass is a non-profit dedicated to providing happy healthy memories to families living with children or adults with disabilities. Their current project is to place 100 floating beach wheelchairs on the public beaches of Massachusetts. They have already placed 66 floating beach wheelchairs on Cape Cod, Ipswich and Scituate, which are free to use and suitable for children and adults. Please help us make a day at the beach (something most of us take for granted) possible for everyone, despite disability!
