The Green Beret Foundation serves the Army’s Special Forces, our nation’s most elite soldiers, by connecting them with the resources they need to succeed in the mission ahead.
There’s a need for a unique organization that serves the needs of Green Berets. Many organizations exist to help support the members of our military, but unfortunately, these programs rarely reach the Green Berets who are working in the villages, towns, and other remote outpost “outside the wire” of secure facilities or large bases. Green Berets who are in continuous loops of training, deployment, and recuperation, find it challenging to access critical services to support their wellness. The Green Beret Foundation’s extensive network and credibility mean resources make it to where and when they’re needed to support each Green Beret’s mission ahead – be it at Walter Reed, during a Reconnect Weekend for families, or at a professional development workshop.
We believe Green Berets are our nation’s greatest assets. Everyday we honor our commitment to Green Berets past and present, as well as their families, by connecting them to the right resources to prosper and thrive. Because when these soldiers – these powerful assets – meet powerful opportunities, our nation’s most elite soldiers become our nation’s best leaders.

The Aconcagua Adventure is the ultimate mountaineering experience. From the moment you land in Mendoza, Argentina the views are unlike any other place on the planet. Once we arrive in Mendoza we will spend the first night enjoying this quaint little city along with the unique culture and cuisine it has to offer. We will stay at the Diplomatic Park Suites in Mendoza and have a program brief that evening before we depart for the mountain.
The following morning we will be picked up in our private transfer and travel to the permit office where we will obtain our permits and register for our climb. We will then travel to Penitentes 2,580 m (8,465 ft.) to coordinate our logistics and begin acclimating at the Hotel Ayelen. Next day, we will set out on an acclimatization hike to Redentor Refuge at the border of Argentina and Chile. From here we make our way to the park gate and start climbing up from Horcones to Confluencia Camp 3,200 m (12,795 ft.) where we will further our acclimatization. The following morning will be a hike to Plaza Francia to see the South Face of Cerro Aconcagua. From here we make our way to Plaza de Mulas our final base camp at 4,200 m (13,800 ft.) We will spend 6 nights here prior to making our ascent on the summit. During this period we will continue to acclimate and summit Cerro Bonete at 5,000 m (16,400 ft.)
It’s time to ascend the mountain to the high camps and this takes us to Plaza Don Fernando at 4,800 m (15,748 ft.) where we set up our first camp. Then onto Plaza Don Benegas at 5,400 m (17,717 ft.). We will then make our way up to Camp Plaza Caluba 5,950 m (19,521 ft.). From Camp Plaza Caluba we will make our summit bid the following morning. We will leave between 4-5 am and expect to be on the summit at 6,963 m (22,844 ft.) by 12 noon. We will make our way back to Camp Plaza Caluba for another night and then back down to Plaza de Mulas. There is 1 additional day inserted in case of bad weather and to insure the success of the expedition. The following morning we will make our descent down the mountain and meet our private transfer to take us back to Mendoza for a well-deserved dinner and time to celebrate. The final morning, after a good breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the airport and our flights home.
