We believe that the only way to alter the trajectory of apathy and disconnection in our culture is with character education and the arts. Empathy, positive action and creative thinking need to be taught and sustained from a young age.
The Groovy Projects focuses where the students' interests already lie, with multimedia. This way we can guide their on/offline behavior, and inform their perspectives on global citizenship, women's equity, civil rights, nutrition, adolescence/bullying, consumerism/materialism, environmentalism. We find creative and relevant ways to encourage empathy and reward their uplifting activism. Our goal is to get them addicted to the feeling of making everyone they meet feel "Two Inches Taller."
