The Half Full Youth Orchestra
Organized by: Steven Dao
We are an organization dedicated to improving the communities through programming targeted for youth and schools of New York City. Our Youth Orchestra initiative is focused on bringing music programs to youth in New York communities that would otherwise not have easy access. Our goal is to create a program where even the most deeply disadvantaged youth have access to quality instruments, private instruction, and performance opportunities.
The fine arts are an essential thread in the fabric of New York City, and we are inviting you to help develop these with a donation to the Half Full Institute.
Your sponsorship will provide a young person in New York City with access to their own instrument, private lessons and weekly ensemble rehearsal and performance opportunities. A donation of only $375, when matched by our partner, can provide all of these elements for a single child for an entire year.
Every $750 raised provides an at-risk student with:
Their own instrument
Weekly one-on-one lessons with professional musicians, weekly ensemble rehearsal with professional direction and culminating community concerts.
We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, and all donations are tax deductible. Please take this opportunity to give students the gift of music.
This project is led by Craig Klonowski, a 7th year tenured public school music teacher and with model teacher distinction. Mr. Klonowski has his bachelor's of music education from The Ohio State University and masters of music education from Cleveland State University. He is the principal double bass with the United Nations Symphony Orchestra and United Nations Chamber Ensemble.
