The Haunted Woods: An Immersive Play
Organized by: Brendan O'Keefe
EVENT DATE Oct 29, 2016
We have 7 acres of moss covered spruce woods filled with trails and bridges, fire pits and tiny homes. On the week leading up to Halloween we will turn this woods into an immersive fantasy world. You will step into a strange land as a story is unfolding. It is a play with a pattern. There is a beginning, a middle and an end, but the rest is open and fluid, shaped by the actors and the audience. Halloween is a time when we all see the world with childlike wonder, when we tell stories around the fire and peer into the darkness. This play will be both magical and haunting. You will move through wooded realms of blue, green and fiery red. Wild characters representing the spectrum of emotions will test you as you quest for the end. Our goal is to create the kind of imaginative escape that kids find in the world of video games, but out in nature, interacting with real people. We are building lost villages of fairy homes and elfin tree houses and when the show is done, our land will be open for families to come and visit our farm of misfit animals, wander the trails, play in the tiny homes and create their own worlds of fantasy.
