The Heberts' Rainbow after the Flood Fund
Organized by: Heidi Hebert
When Jeff Hebert got up in the morning to head to work, he swung his legs out of bed and into ankle deep water. That was the beginning of a terrible reality. With the Louisiana flood waters rising, Jeff and Heidi were able to grab a few important things, including five-year old Drew, and head to the safety and security of a family member's house. As they were leaving their home and Heidi was in tears, Drew reached over and touched his mom and said, "Mom don't cry. It's just a house. God will send a rainbow soon!" Gratefully, the Heberts themselves are safe and sound. However, the aftermath has been devastating to their home. Their furniture, appliances, walls, and insulation are a total loss. The recovery will be arduous, but they know that with your help - and God's help - recovery will come. Your gift to the Heberts' Rainbow after the Flood Fund will be an immediate relief to a monumental challenge of repairing their home to livable condition, replacing the essentials household items and appliances that were lost in the flood, and helping with the cost of repairs and gas money for driving from a relative's home to Baton Rouge for work and for home repairs. "Coach Mrs. Heidi" as her students affectionately call her, is a devoted PE teacher, softball coach, mother, and wife. She teaches all day, coaches after school, and works throughout the summer. Jeff is a security guard who spends his life protecting others. Otherwise, family is their priority. Heidi and Jeff love to take Drew swimming and bike riding in their free time.
