Dear Family and Friends,
One more marathon! I can’t believe I’m actually saying these words! But I say them proudly!
In September 2015, I ran my first marathon in the Hamptons on behalf of The Herren Project (THP). After months of training, hard work and a few injuries, my plan was “one and done.” Little did I know my plans would change! When I ran the Hamptons Marathon it was a life changing experience. I couldn’t be more proud to represent THP along side the caring and dedicated people who promote the power of recovery through running.
The mission of the Herren Project (THP) is to assist individuals and their families struggling with the impact of drug and alcohol addiction. Addiction touches millions of families everyday and because of how strongly I feel about the mission of THP, I am lacing up my sneakers and taking on the challenge to run the TCS New York City Marathon (NYCM) on November 5, 2017! I will do everything in my power to represent the cause of THP, and all of you who support me. The NYCM is an amazing stage (over 50,000 runners) to bring awareness against a horrible disease that impacted me as an adult child of an alcoholic father and more recently by a close relative’s battle with drug addiction. I run for the hope of recovery.
At it’s inception in 2014, the THP RUNS team began with just 30 runners. Today we have over 400 dedicated, passionate runners! THP RUNS have grown into a meaningful, healing family, raising more than $600,000 in less than 3 years.
Please consider supporting me in my run at The New York City Marathon. Any donation you can give is sincerely appreciated and every dollar raised will go towards supporting The Herren Project and it’s 3 areas of focus; 1) to increase awareness to the signs of addiction 2) to provide treatment navigation to those afflicted including their families, and 3) to provide educational programs and mentoring resources.
With your help we can make a difference! Thank you!!
