Today is the Last Day!

BENEFITING: Humane Society of Charles County, Inc.
In 1975, a small group of volunteers realized that the existing county shelter was not able to save those animals most in need and so created the Humane Society of Charles County (HSCC) in order to protect the injured, neglected and abused animals in our community that would die without intervention. Our county’s population has more than doubled since we began and the number of animals needing our help has increased more than anyone could have imagined. Last year alone, 2,507 adoptable pets were euthanized in the Tri-County area.
At the core of our work is the dream that one day we will be able to save them all. In 2016, the HSCC adopted 1,625 animals into good homes, reunited 278 lost pets with their owners, and helped countless other pets in need through our friendships with other shelters and rescue groups. Our goal is for every adoptable animal to go home by offering the best possible services and expanding current programs, including our Bottle Baby, Barn Cat and Bully Breed Ambassador programs, off-site adoptions, and humane education.
Further, we have put hard-hitting spay/neuter and trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs into place in order to reduce the number of animals who enter shelters in our community and now offer counseling and veterinary assistance to help families keep their pets at home instead of surrendering them. We know we can end the killing, but we need your help.
The Saving Pets Challenge is the most efficient fundraiser we have found to help us save pets in our community. 100% of your donation goes directly to our shelter AND with your help, we could even win up to $50,000 in prize money! Funds raised through the Saving Pets Challenge will be used to help us lead the way to a no-kill community by providing shelter, care, and adoption services for more homeless, injured, and neglected animals than ever before.
