BENEFITING: JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK INC
ORGANIZER: JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK INC
On November 5th of this year, I’ll be running 26.2 miles through the five boroughs of New York City in support of the New York Junior League, a women’s volunteer and training organization I have been a member of for the past four years.
The New York Junior League is made up of 2,800 women, myself included, who perform more than 260,000 hours of volunteer service annually to help bring about positive change for women and children in NYC. The funds raised in connection with the race will support the many charitable activities of the NYJL and will ensure the future of this organization which has meant so much to me personally.
As some of you may know, I am a member of the league’s Senior Friends committee and volunteer my Tuesday evenings at the New Jewish Home, a facility for the elderly on the Upper West Side. We plan weekly events and activities to engage and entertain the seniors including bingo nights, musical performances and holiday shopping bazaars. My involvement with the seniors has been a truly rewarding experience and the difference we make in the residents’ lives is a true testament to the impact the New York Junior League has on our community.
As a member of the NYJL’s TCS New York City Marathon team, I’ve committed to raising $5,000 in support of the NYJL’s charitable activities in exchange for a chance to run in the world’s most prestigious marathon. I’m honored to have this opportunity, but I need your help to make it a reality! Please consider making a gift towards my $5,000 fundraising goal.
Thank you so much for your support!
