The long haul
Organized by: Anna Theocharides
As most of you know , Daryle Chambers was in a hockey accident 15 years ago that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Daryl amazed everyone by overcoming alot of battles and accomplishments that no one thought were possible the most amazing one was being able to walk again when the Dr.s said he wouldn't, it has been a long struggle for him but he was the picture of determination , motivation and perseverance. On Feb 13th of this year when no one was expecting it , Daryle suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke that was very devestating. He's been hospitalized ever since with slow but good progress. He is far from able to go home yet but the hospital is sending him there in 2 weeks (April 11th). He will need full time care , which as of now they are offering 14 hours a week. He is fully parylyzed on his right side as well as the neck down and unable to eat on his own without help and more personal hygiene care is required as well. Daryle's wife will be taking a leave of absence at her job to care for him for the remainder of the time. I am creating this go fund me account on behalf of the Chambers family because I believe that the burden and stress they carry emotionally and financially is very heavy and with some help from friends and family it would be greatly appreciated and helpful in this long road to recovery ahead. A few things to list and the most expensive and important things that Daryle will need are: a bed with a lift and wheelchair amongst many other small but pricey things. The family is contemplating renting them or buying them (either way is quite expensive ) donations are helpful and greatly appreciated but knowledge is as well, any information that could lead to grants or types of programs he may be entitled to would be amazing as well :) thank you so much for you love support and kindness towards this cause .
