On behalf of the Loscomb family of Secretary, Maryland, Thank you for visiting our Page. This project of one of such importance to this family, that it cannot be described in just words. We pray the Lord put his hand into this project, and help to make it an amazing success. Below are pictures of the current house that Bernadette and Ricky Loscomb have lived in for 30 years. After a stroke 30 years ago, Bernadette, the mother of 6 children, has been since confined to a wheelchair, and to a bed located in the kitchen. Ricky Loscomb, the head of the household, has also had some unfortunate situations arise as he has off-and-on been battling cancer and other medical conditions. Though both receive social security, this has not been enough to pay the bills of the house, let alone given them the ability to fully, physically take care of the duties of the house. With that said the selflessness of Angel, the oldest daughter, and her husband Benny, stands out as they visit daily and spend most of their time taking care of the house, fixing meals, and tending to the general well-being of the two. Benny works full time to provide for his family as well. Angel recently had a baby named Grace, which is the perfect name for this little girl since it was God’s Grace that she is even here. Over time, the family learned that Angel has Lyme’s disease, and is currently going through testing for Multiple Sclerosis. Even with their help, much more help is needed. Peter, the oldest son, has since offered to come back into the area and step in where he can. Peter is a military veteran whom is currently in remission from brain cancer and getting stronger as he goes. Now, all 6 siblings are in a position to step in and help. Still, there is a main problem that has not been handled, the house itself. As you can see in the pictures below, the house that this Christian family of 8 grew up in is very old, drafty, rotting and molding in some places. Not to mention, it is definitely too small for any family gatherings, events, and sometimes even having visitors or having room for when Benny and Angel are available to help. It has been a dream of the 6 siblings, and now their spouses, to be able to give back to their parents, whom have stayed strong to provide for each child as they grew up, regardless of any and all hardships. With each sibling working and saving, it has become possible to start working towards the goal of remodeling/rebuilding their childhood home, to make it livable again. Even though each sibling plans to give to this cause, the total cost of the project is going to be a bit more than the siblings together can put forth, while still being able to take care of their own families and children. That’s why we are here. With a little help, we can rebuild this home and make it more comfortable and safe for Bernadette and Ricky. It will also give this family the ability to do what they have wanted to do for years, and give back to those family members who have always done so much for them. The family currently has a contractor looking into the cost of the project, and we plan to post a solid goal total shortly. The goal provided is simply to get the ball rolling on this page. We would appreciate any donation you would be willing to give to this cause. As the project moves forward, it is our intention to give updates and information regarding the current status. In our quest to support our parents we find tremendous joy and hope for their future. Would you consider a personal gift to help us change their future for the better? Thank you so much for visiting our page. God Bless.
