Elephants are large, intelligent and majestic animals. They are the largest mammal on land. Unfortunately, due to a large ivory demand, they are being increasingly killed for their tusk. In the last 7 years, their global population has decreased by 30%, and by 60% in some areas. In 2016 alone, 35,000 elephants were poached creating many parentless young and infant orphans. If the killing continues, there will be no elephants left for our children and grandchildren to marvel at. Additionally, known as the mega-gardeners of the forest, their extinction also adversely affects other plant, animal and tree species that depend on them. Please help as I raise needed funds for the care of these orphans, and join me in bringing attention to this important issue.
