This summer, I will be running my first half marathon, and I am excited to support The Miracle League North Bay. The Miracle League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities, causing them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional baseball leagues. Many fields in conventional leagues use natural grass fields; The Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assertive devices while helping to prevent injuries.
The Miracle League North Bay’s vision is to bring this miracle home to the Bay Area, and provide over 50,000 children and adults the opportunity to play in organized sports. This would be Northern California’s first baseball field for special needs children and adults.
Your support of The Miracle League North Bay will help to make this dream a reality for so many special needs families in the bay area, as well as give them the opportunity to make new friends, build self-esteem and be treated like an athlete. Growing up a soccer player, athletics and team sports were a big part of my upbringing, and helped me build my own self-esteem, make life-long friends, and learn to be a good teammate. I think that everyone should be afforded the opportunity to play team sports, and it’s why I’m so passionate about this project. Thank you for your support!
