BENEFITING: The New York Foundling
ORGANIZER: The New York Foundling
There are more than 400,000 children living in the foster care system in the United States – 13,000 are in New York City. Every year, over 24,000 children nationally age out of foster care–1,200 in New York City alone.
Children and young adults with foster care experience face significant barriers in life – they are more likely to be homeless, face significant mental health issues, and not complete their education or find employment.
I’ve learned more about this pressing issue in recent years and believe all of us must do our part to solve this crisis. The New York Foundling has been on the frontlines of this issue as one of our city’s oldest and most respected nonprofit organizations. They serve over 27,000 children and families each year in all five boroughs and surrounding counties, and Puerto Rico.
I am thrilled to be running my fourth #TCNYCMarathon in support of The New York Founding and hope you will join me in supporting their mission of saving children, preserving families, and building communities.
I’ll be running 26.2 miles, but I need your financial support to get me to the finish line! Will you stand with me?
