As you know, needy families and individuals in our neighborhoods go without proper food, shelter, and essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, age, domestic violence, or divorce. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, children and the elderly are most at risk.
Phoenix Landing is a non-profit organization that is the brain child of its founder, Alisa Cruickshank, whom has experienced being homeless herself. Her vision is to create a safe place for the homeless, disadvantaged and weary, to rest during the day hours, especially for the seniors and youths.
Phoenix Landing is not a replacement for homeless shelters, but rather a viable option to those who are in need of a safe gathering place to get rest, nutritional refreshments, access to clean clothing, and a chance to put their minds at ease during their trying circumstances. This Selah is specifically designed for the poor, low income, disadvantaged, and whosever will to come and get a moment to refresh their mind, body and spirit. Those that are in need of an opportunity to enhance their self-worth and use additional training and development, are more than welcomed to use the facilities resources.
Its mission is to help transforming lives by relieving human suffering through training and development. It is unique in its approach because it provides vital opportunities for individuals and families to learn about community involvement – and each other. As well, it brings together the cultural differences through understanding diversity, all while getting peace from the day’s journey.
We firmly believe that Phoenix Landing Community Services can change the lives for the better by offering an opportunity to rest, relax, refresh, and restore. Your kind donation will help complete a ‘survivors kit’. What’s included in the kit are: [all travel size] toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, deodorant, bar soap, hand sanitizer, lip balm, single razor (men), feminine products (women), mints/gum, and a healthy treat. In all, the cost of each kit is approximately $5 and our goal is to make 500 survivor kits and donate them to local shelters, housing projects, nursing homes, and wherever else the greatest needs are; your gift can help make this possible. With a donation of $20 or more, we will send you our dvd of latest events and testimonials from the many families that Phoenix Landing has helped.
Also, with your monetary gift that we intend to support the programs general operating expense, (rental space, utilities. supplies, etc.), sponsor activities, and give one (1) scholarship in the amount of $1000 in honor of Phoenix Landing. As well as technical products such as computers/tablets, software, and literature that help introduce them to today’s current trend. It is with your compassion in which Phoenix Landing Community Services hope to help change the world, one community at a time.
