We are taking part in a global fundraiser through the Virgin Pulse Challenge where we will be participating in a 100-day fitness challenge to raise money for UNICEF Brighter Futures. For 70 years UNICEF has been there for children in danger. UNICEF was created in 1946 to help protect children after World War 2, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is the basis of their work. Today, they are still helping children in some of the world’s most dangerous places. The money that we raise will make a significant difference to vulnerable children around the world. For example, $184 can buy a UNICEF School-in-a-box, which provides essential resources to enable 40 children in Bangladesh to continue their education. Materials for an entire classroom are packed into a large portable case, including a solar/wind-up radio and even an inflatable globe for geography lessons. Additionally, just $25 could buy a nutritious meal for more than 70 children at a Children’s Corner in Malawi.
From the examples above, you can see that a little bit goes a long ways. We've set a goal of $1,000 dollars for our team, but are looking to exceed expectations for this great cause. Any and all donations are accepted :)
