The Rescue Pony Fund
Organized by: Julie Sams
Bavarian Girl. Sold for $87,000. Won $54,000 racing. Then, she was left in a field, abandoned. Sadly enough, this fate is one that many race horses share. She was one of the 47 Unbridled horses that were rescued. She was left in a field where she sustained several injuries. Fungal infections that permanently damaged her leg, blindness in one eye, and even a mental disorder, weaving caused by the stree of the traumatic events she's been through. She lost both her foals, one only months before I rescued her. Plain and simple, she's had a very hard life and I'm doing the best I can to help her. She is now on 24 hour hay and lots of grain to put weight on her again. However, vet bills are extremely high and with winter approaching, it seems I'm falling more and more behind. I am just 16 years old with little support from my family. Board alone is $450 a month plus a ferrier bill. Fall shots and snow are quickly approaching and it seems I'm quite unprepared. So, while I search for another job I ask that you donate any amount you can for my lovely rescue, it is greatly appreciated.
