Thanks for visiting my Crowdrise page!
On Nov 6, I’m running the NYC Marathon to raise money for the Resolution Project, a social venture fund founded by two Harvard alums with whom I worked at Harvard World Model United Nations. Resolution provides seed money and a network of advisors to university students striving to become social entrepreneurs. Through this fellowship model, Resolution fellows develop the skills and infrastructure needed to change their communities. Fellows are recruited through partner organizations such as the United Nations, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the Igniting Innovation Summit (full list here).
I need to emphasize this: Resolution has had an unbelievable and measurable impact. There are over 220 total fellowships, 500 volunteers, and 600,000 beneficiaries spread across 50 countries and 6 continents. Here’s a small sampling of those social ventures (read about them all here):
- Brighter Today (Haryana, India): promotes energy efficiency and lower energy bills for homes by switching incandescent light bulbs with CFL bulbs
- Achieving Community Excellence (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia): helps orphans navigate the college and scholarship application process and access educational opportunities beyond their local community
- Malindza Sustainable Energy for Peace (Mpaka, Swaziland): constructed a bio-latrine digester at a refugee camp and provides skills training, employment, waste management, and renewable energy
- Waste to the Dump (Caracas, Venezuela): designs creative information campaigns to inform the public of the consequences of litter and garbage mismanagements
I hope you’ll contribute to Resolution’s mission to promote young social entrepreneurs! Your generosity will keep me going for all 26.2 miles in November.
