STARFISH PROJECT INCORPORATED wrote -
This year we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary! Starfish Project has spent the last 10 years restoring hope to sexually exploited women in Asia.
In 2006, Starfish began with five women working around a table in an apartment and has expanded to offering employment and holistic care services in two cities in Asia. Starfish Project is a globally respected social enterprise that has helped more than 100 women out of sexually exploitive situations by giving them alternative employment making jewelry and leadership opportunities to help run the Project’s business operations.
Why We Are Here:
Starfish Project believes in providing real career opportunities so women can gain the tools to empower themselves. In 2014, we revamped our holistic care programs by providing computer training courses in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Upon completion of the courses, each woman has the opportunity to receive a professional certification from the Microsoft Corporation. Since the start of the program, 100% of the women have passed their certification exams!
The success of the women at Starfish Project, have created a new challenge for us. We now want to provide opportunities for women to study outside of Starfish Project in an area of their choosing so they can gain higher level career skills.
“At this 10 year marker, we are ready to take our programs to a higher level.” - Jenny McGee, Founder and CEO.
Your donation through this Ten Campaign will provide the funds to help Starfish Project expand our holistic care programs, provide women with the higher level career skills and help the women we work with to achieve their dreams.
